The answer has to do with virtual memory, caching and stuff, so I'm going to spare you that. That said, you should ALWAYS look to get a medium sized primary hard drive and THEN a secondary hard drive (a USB one) thats as big as possible.

But I'd say go for a 100 GB primary HDD at least. (you can get as big an HDD as you want...
